Yoga for People Who Move

What can students expect from this workshop?

Yoga for People Who Move is an asana flow class with meditative elements that restore active bodies and minds. If you consider yourself a human-in-motion, this class is for you! All bodies and experience levels are welcome; a beginner understanding of yoga is recommended. Currently, we do not have the resources to provide mats and props, so please bring your own! This class will be taught alternately by Alexandria Nunweiler and Kristin Wagner.

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

Yoga is centuries old practice originating in South East Asia. These classes are asana-based classes, which means we are focusing primarily on the physical aspect of yoga. We also use mindfulness and meditation in the practice. Please know that yoga is an eight-limbed practice that includes physical, mental and spiritual ritual and practice. This class is just a taste of what yoga is and can be.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

Kristin and Alex have used yoga in their personal practices for over ten years each. Both are 200hr teachers, certified online through a Yoga Alliance-recognized program. This means that they have invested 200+ hours in studying the practice and pedagogy of yoga. Each has continued their education in yoga pedagogy since completing their training in 2021 (Kristin) and 2022 (Alex).

Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…

Bodies and minds that are constantly in motion require specialized rest and recovery. We believe, quite passionately, in the restorative elements of yoga and are SO excited to share our practice with other movement practitioners.
