Pre-Dance Complex: Efforts To Re-Open The Building

Founder and First Dance Complex Executive Director Rozann Kraus leads the re-opening effort of 536 Mass Ave. as a dance center.  Kraus, former JOM teachers, and other local dance-makers meet at 26 Lansdowne Street to confer. In July of 1991 the group hosts a cleaning party of the building, post the repossession of JOM items by the bank. Kraus leads the efforts to negotiate with the City of Cambridge and lending institutions to officially maintain the building as a dancers’ facility.
