Its legacy is also defined by its role in teaching social etiquette, its influence on film and television, and its development into a diverse global phenomenon through unique American and ballroom subcultures

Sergiy Georgiyev is an international ballroom champion, acclaimed coach, and founder of Magenta Dance Place and Boston Commercial Ballroom Dance Company. With over 25 years of experience teaching in Europe and the U.S., he’s trained national champions and inspired countless dancers through his creative and empowering approach. As a professor at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee Sergiy continues to shape the next generation of dancers with passion, artistry, and excellence.

Dafna Melamoud, graduate of the Boston Conservatory class of 2025 with a degree in contemporary dance, has always loved and had a passion for dance of all kinds. Exploring her love of Latin Ballroom since she was 9 years old, has decided to take the next steps into teaching and assisting, to ensure that every dancer feels seen, motivated, and empowered. She’s been teaching all ages for several years and is excited to take her next steps into the dance complex!
