Join us for a series of workshops designed to help participants find greater ease, movement efficiency and expressive range within the body. Through movement exploration, group discussion, and whole body integration sequences, participants will learn fundamental movement patterns and principles, which can be applied to any movement practice. These workshops are based on the systems of Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals, anatomy/kinesiology, and other somatic modalities. No dance experience is required.

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

Moving to Connect draws from an eclectic blend of somatic practices, including Laban Movement Analysis/Bartenieff Fundamentals (LMA/BF), to find connectivity, fluidity, and dynamic expression in the body.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

Meghan and Kristen are Certified Evans Teachers under their mentor Bill Evans. Meghan is a professor of dance and the dance program coordinator at Salem State University. She earned degrees in dance and arts administration from Point Park University, American University, and Hollins University. Kristen is the founder and director of the Colleges of the Fenway Dance Ensemble and the newly established SynchroniCity Dance Co. She holds degrees in dance and business from UMass Amherst, an MFA from Goddard College, a CMA from the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, and RYT-200 Certification through Yoga of Energy Flow.
