What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
Hip hop – is a street dance form that derived from clubs and house parties in the 80’s. It has its rich and soulful roots in the African American Culture. It’s characterized by bounces, rocks vibin’ all intertwined with grooves that help you understand the attitudes and soul of African American culture. This class is a beginner choreography class.
What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
With over 36 years of performance experience, Carl has shared the stage with recording artists like Gladys Knight, Ray Charles, Neil Young, and Sir Elton John, and has coached A-list celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Brendan Fraser, and Ken Jeong. As a talent agent, he represented talent that worked on projects for Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Beyonce, and “In the Heights” on Broadway to name a few. His book, “Speak Confidently On Camera: Avoid These 12 Critical Mistakes And Be The Coach You Were Meant To Be,” is an Amazon best seller. Serving on worship teams since the mid-1990s, Carl has honed his and others skills both for on stage and camera.
