One-hour, in-person sound bath with live instrumentation. The experience is designed to promote deep relaxation and mindfulness. While not a traditional performance, the session creates an immersive soundscape for passive participation. Participants will lie down on their own yoga mats, or sit comfortably as they absorb the healing vibrations.
A sound bath is a deeply immersive experience that promotes relaxation, stress relief, and mental clarity. The vibrations from instruments like crystal singing bowls, chimes, an ocean drum, and gongs help calm the nervous system, release tension, and encourage a meditative state. It offers a deeply restorative experience, helping participants release tension, quiet the mind, and achieve a state of deep relaxation. A sound bath provides a powerful reset, leaving attendees feeling grounded, refreshed, and reconnected with themselves.
DR. JOANN TOPOROWSKI OF TOP VIBRATIONS:
Joann is a certified sound therapy practitioner and licensed psychologist. She has been practicing psychology since 2004. She has been working with psychotherapy patients on an individual basis since 2011.
What was a free yoga class in Boston Common turned out to be a game-changer for Joann in 2023. The yoga teacher taught a half-hour of yoga and provided a 25-minute sound bath. Joann had never been to a sound bath, but it was downhill from there. For Joann played the piano for years as a kid and the best summer in her 20s was spent in weekly drum lessons, so sound therapy is the perfect blend of Joann’s musical past and her helping personality. She is passionate about offering her caring energy to people in larger groups.
Joann earned a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate in psychology. While she is a native Southern Californian, she lives in Boston with her loving husband, who pulls her heavy wagon of instruments. She married into a skiing family. She learned to ski black diamonds and can ski on ice, unless she’s in California or Utah where this is little ice (thank, goodness). She also loves to practice Pilates and loves Boston sports (except for their basketball team, as she is a lifelong Lakers fan).
