Somatic Movement is a welcoming space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and explore movement from the inside out.

Through grounding, breath, gentle movement, rest, and moments of stillness, you’ll be invited to notice what your body needs and move in ways that feel supportive to you. Rather than focusing on how movement looks, this practice centers how it feels—creating space to release tension, support nervous system regulation, and build greater connection with yourself.

Each class explores themes such as boundaries, self-trust, rest, joy, transition, and community. There is no right way to move and nothing to achieve. You are always encouraged to listen to your body, move at your own pace, and make the practice your own.

All bodies and all levels are welcome. No previous yoga, movement, or somatic experience is needed.
Come as you are.

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

Majestic Healing Pathways™ is the foundational care model that guides all of Majestic Community Wellness’s programs. It reflects our belief that healing is a right — not a privilege — and that healing happens most sustainably when care is consistent, culturally grounded, and rooted in community.

Developed in response to gaps in traditional health and wellness systems, Majestic Healing Pathways™ centers the lived experiences of Black and Brown communities who face disproportionate stress, trauma, and barriers to care. The model honors the reality that healing is not a single intervention, but a pathway built over time through breath, movement, rest, relationship, and choice.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

Mariah Sabir, MPH, CD(DP), is a Boston-born public health advocate, full-spectrum doula, and the founder of Grounded MAMA. Born in Roxbury and raised in Dorchester, Mariah brings a deeply rooted, community-centered approach to the mat. Her practices at Majestic Yoga Studio offer a trauma-informed, accessible space where deep somatic movement meets the soulful, grounding rhythms of R&B and Hip-Hop. For Mariah, yoga isn’t about perfect poses it’s a protected space for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and reclaiming the radical act of rest. Open to all bodies and experience levels, her classes invite you to step into your flow, feel at home, and heal for the culture.
