About:
Sylver is a professional dancer from Madagascar and has spent the last 15 years specializing in Malagasy popular dances, Afropop, Caribbean, Hip Hop, Jazz and contemporary techniques. He has performed with many of Madagascar’s most renowned musicians and performers, and has danced with a number of contemporary companies in Madagascar and abroad. In 2011, Sylver participated alongside 42 African dancers in a three-month intensive training at the renowned Ecole de Sable in Toubab Diallo, Senegal, focusing on traditional and urban African dances, also hip-hop and contemporary styles. Then he studied classical, modern and contemporary dance for 2 years at the Jerusalem Academy of Music in Dance.
I am passionate about teaching this style because…It brings people from all over the world to celebrate African and Caribbean music and culture. I love seeing the joy and excitement on everyone’s faces during and after class!
