DESCRIPTION:Experience Flamenco with award-winning flamenco artist Laura Sánchez! Join this fun and welcoming community class as part of The Dance Complex’s Friday Night Light Series. \nOpen to all levels\, this session invites you to explore the rhythm\, movement\, and energy of flamenco in a supportive and inclusive space. Come as you are – no experience needed! \nConnect with yourself and your community through movement in this all-level flamenco class and dance party! \nLAURA SÁNCHEZ: \nLaura Sánchez is a multidisciplinary artist\, flamenco dancer\, and stage creator whose work expands the boundaries of flamenco through contemporary and interdisciplinary practice. Trained in Spanish Dance and Flamenco at the Professional Conservatory of Madrid\, she brings a deeply embodied and expressive approach to the art form. \nShe is the creator of Expressive Flamenco©\, a practice developed through her training in Expressive Therapies at Lesley University (USA). Her work has been presented internationally in theaters\, festivals\, and universities across Europe and the United State and has been published at the American Dance Therapy Journal. She has received several grants in Massachusetts recognizing her work\, including the Live Arts Boston Grant\, Next Steps for Boston Dance\, the New England Dance Fund\, and the Boston Dancemakers Residency\, among others. \nLaura will be at Porter Square Books in Cambridge on Wednesday April 29th at 7pm for the official launch of her memoir Piel de Tulipán / Tulip Skin!
