SUMMARY:Level 2B Salsa
DESCRIPTION:This level has four different curricula and is where you learn all the standard Salsa turns and how to combine them together. We also focus on freestyle footwork\, musicality and upper and lower body movements. The four different curricula focus on the following concepts all set in different contexts and using different hand positions: Inside Turn Check/Wraps\, Single/Double Copa\, Single/Double Checks and Presentations/Turns on right side of lead. \nCost: $20 Single Class | $90 for 5-Class Package \nREGISTER HERE\nAccepted Payments: Cash\, Check\, Venmo (@salsaycontroldance)\, PayPal\, CashApp ($JohnnyGiraldo80) \n\nWhat is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?\nSalsa is a musical and dance style that originated in Cuba with African roots and European influences. It later developed in New York and it’s popular throughout Latin America in places like Puerto Rico\, Colombia\, Peru and Cuba just to name a few. \nWhat background\, training\, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?\nI grew up listening to Salsa music and later got interested in the dance. As a teenager\, I was part of a Colombian folk dance group before starting to perform Salsa duets with my brother Andres. I’v been teaching Salsa for about 25 years now and last year we celebrated 20 years of our dance company\, Salsa y Control. \nFinish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…\n…It allows people to connect in a unique way. Salsa dancing is a social dance that help break barriers and brings people together from all walks of life. It also gives you the opportunity to express yourself freely on the dance floor or stage. \n\nHow can students learn more about this offering?\nInstagram: @sycdance\nWebsite: http://www.salsaycontrol.com/\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/johnny.giraldo\nYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/salsaycontrol \n\nContact:\njohnny@salsaycontrol.com | 617-312-6464\nkelly@salsaycontrol.com | 302-559-5939
