The term “house” was derived from The Warehouse\, a Chicago club where the music was often played. Though the essence of the dance is purely freestyle\, popular steps performed in NYC dance clubs were eventually recognized as “house dance foundation.” Members of NYC’s Dance Fusion were the first to teach house dance\, which contributed greatly to house becoming a worldwide phenomenon. \nWhat background\, training\, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?\nA master Taekwondo-ist and professional dancer\, Sean began dancing in the year 2000\, and was formally introduced to house dance by Boston native Ricardo Foster Jr in 2007. For years\, Sean sought opportunities to learn from and train under many house dance teachers including Jardy Santiago\, members of NYC’s Dance Fusion\, and Edson Gonzaga who helped unlock Sean’s understanding of house music and develop his own personal dance style.
