She completed her 200-hour teacher training at Atmananda Yoga\, and her teaching continues to be informed by years of study in Pilates\, Feldenkrais\, Hot Yoga\, and Katonah Yoga. \nThe births of her two children inspired her to deepen her studies in prenatal and postnatal yoga. She focused much of her teaching on supporting families and children through the various stages of development. During this time\, she earned her Prenatal Yoga Certification through OM Yoga\, a Developmental Movement and Baby Yoga Certification with Ellynne Skove\, and a Kids Yoga Teacher Training through Karma Kids. \nNora’s classes blend Iyengar-inspired alignment principles with thoughtful Vinyasa sequencing\, creating practices that are both grounding and dynamic. With a healthy dose of playfulness\, creativity\, and movement exploration\, she encourages students to find balance between effort and ease. When appropriate\, she incorporates hands-on adjustments\, core strengthening\, and generous final relaxation. SUMMARY:Beginner and Intermediate Tap for All Levels
DESCRIPTION:Classes teach Broadway style tap and focus on repetitive technique to encourage muscle memory and the confidence to create clear sounds. Inclusion is a priority so that all students feel welcome. Classes are “drop-in”\, meaning you may join any week and there’s no “semester” commitment. Past steps are always reviewed with the introduction of 1 or 2 new steps or combos each class. Similar to a yoga class\, students work at their own individual levels and build up skill at their own pace. Beginners will feel comfortable regardless of when they join. \nCost: $20 for 1 hour \n*NEW* The Dance Complex requires ALL visitors to have a Membership\, Guest Pass\, or $5 Day Pass to access the building. \nRegistration: Email or text Christina Harrington to register: charrington9901@gmail.com | (617) 852-6240 \nPre-registration is encouraged but not required. Drop-ins are welcome. \nAccepted Payments: Cash\, Venmo (@christina-harrington-7) \n\nWhat is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?\nTap dancing began as an answer to the horrors of colonial enslavement…with no musical instruments\, Irish and West African slaves turned to their own feet to create rhythms and percussion while pulling movement and technique from traditional tribal and cultural dances. Sounds were initially made with wooden soles\, then pennies and bottle caps\, finally becoming the modern metal plates screwed to the ball and heel of the shoes. These dances made their way to minstrel and vaudeville shows\, eventually transforming into the broadway and rhythm style tap dancing we know today. \nWhat background\, training\, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?\nChristina Harrington joined The Dance Complex as a Teaching Artist in May 2012. As a child she studied tap\, jazz\, and ballet at the Paula Coffey Dance Center in East Bridgewater\, MA from 1987-1995 where tap was always her favorite. From 1996-2001\, she was a member of the dance troupe Orchesis at Elmira College\, and an assistant choreographer for the Elmira College summer theatre program. After several years operating with with KSA Dance in Chelmsford\, Christina formed “Tappin’ With Tina” where classes focus on repetitive technique and prioritize inclusion so that all adult students feel welcome to learn at their own pace\, regardless of experience\, age\, or ability. \nFinish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…\n…Anyone can do it\, it’s incredibly fun\, there are so many styles\, and you can make your own music with your feet! Tap numbers are always showstoppers! \nAccompanists\, Assistants\, and Regular Substitutes:\nJennifer Lee Keeter and Sara Garvin \n\nHow can students learn more about this offering?\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/tappinwithtina/ \nContact Information\nContact: Christina Harrington\ncharrington9901@yahoo.com | 617-852-6240 (text preferred)

Dance with Music \nPhilosophically things to be on the lookout for\, the importance of melding footwork and partner-work when dancing Salsa\, the importance of spaced repetition\, the importance of tying everything to Social dancing\, and personal convolutional schemes to try to attenuate the lead/follow dichotomy. No partner required. \n*NEW* The Dance Complex requires ALL visitors to have a Membership\, Guest Pass\, or $5 Day Pass to access the building. \n*Students who purchase a membership for the Dance Complex will get that $25 taken off their 10 class new student rate\, bringing it down to $85.  \nCost: $23 Single Class | $85 for 5-Class Package | $130 for 10-class package | $110 for new student 10-class package\n \nCash\, Venmo (@Brendan-Folan)\, Zelle (bjfoley21@gmail.com) \nREGISTRATION: Not Required\, Drop-Ins Welcome\n\nWhat is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?\nLinear Salsa is a hybrid dance that comes from Mambo (a Cuban style that was popularized in the 1950’s NYC Palladium). NY Mambo is a marriage of footwork and partner-work from Cuba (Aftro-Cuban movements\, Cuban Son) and the U.S. (Jazz\, Swing). Salsa is a marketing term popularized in the 1970’s to commodify all Latin music and dance to a U.S. audience. Circular Salsa primarily comes from the Cuban dance Casino\, which itself originates from Cuban Son. Salsa is by nature transformational\, multinational\, and multigenerational\, embodying the shared heritage of Latin music. \nWhat background\, training\, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?\nI was the assistant teacher of this class for over 2 years under Ricardo Contreras. I’ve been taking classes from Juan Lopez for over 7 years. I started my Salsa journey learning New York Style Salsa On2 in Worcester.
