The term “house” was derived from The Warehouse\, a Chicago club where the music was often played. Though the essence of the dance is purely freestyle\, popular steps performed in NYC dance clubs were eventually recognized as “house dance foundation.” Members of NYC’s Dance Fusion were the first to teach house dance\, which contributed greatly to house becoming a worldwide phenomenon. \nWhat background\, training\, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?\nA master Taekwondo-ist and professional dancer\, Sean began dancing in the year 2000\, and was formally introduced to house dance by Boston native Ricardo Foster Jr in 2007. For years\, Sean sought opportunities to learn from and train under many house dance teachers including Jardy Santiago\, members of NYC’s Dance Fusion\, and Edson Gonzaga who helped unlock Sean’s understanding of house music and develop his own personal dance style. Since 2013 Sean has been an active member of Boston’s underground club scene after meeting Boston house OGs such as Sammy Savuth and DJ Bruno. \nBy combining proven analytical martial arts teaching methods with his experience in house clubs\, Sean aims to help students from around the world understand & appreciate the lineage of house dance its music and how they can continue to contribute to house’s underground club lineage. \nFinish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…\n…House is medicine for the mind\, body and soul. Nothing gets people moving like house music. I constantly see house music transform a room of people from stillness to a fever pitch. \n\nHow can students learn more about this offering?\nInstagram: instagram.com/shizz_matic\nYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/beejerks\nE-mail List: http://eepurl.com/dMnu7Q\nWebsite: http://seanbjerke.net/ \nContact Information\nContact Sean:\nbeejerks@gmail.com or seanbjerke.net
