Computer Break: Injury Prevention Through Movement and Awareness

Jason Trenouth, MSPT

November 24, 2021: Virtual Presentation
6:00pm

Jason will be interacting with a few props: a chair, a phone, mini adjustable desk and laptop, in a way that educates the audience on some basic ergonomics (safe interaction with the work environment). The event will move through and describe do’s and don’ts regarding body position interacting with these objects and demonstrate different movement exercises based on the work day, like, mini break exercise, the 1 minute productive break, exercises before work, lunch break and afterwork. The audience will be taught how to check eye dominance and also some movement exercises related to dominant eyes and limbs.
Basically any movement we do, whether its at the desk on on the dance floor can become a habit for good or bad. Bad habits do not die easily, they must be replaced by “good habits”. Sitting, standing and working with computers and phones cause unwanted muscle imbalances in our bodies that often go undetected until we feel the pain at the Dance class, tennis or the gym. Muscle imbalance patterns can be prevented by intermittent productive movement breaks before, during and after work.

Jason, MSPT, is a lifelong athlete with nearly 25 years of experience as a physical therapist and certified ergonomist. He played elite soccer and national level rugby for many years and “retired” to a fully decorated running career, including multiple marathons.  Jason has worked in almost every type of facility imaginable, from a max-security prison to a 5000 square foot sports clinic.

His unique experience as an athlete, a physical therapist, as well as a certified ergonomist – combined with his limitless passion for the body, lends to an effective treatment that guides the body back to its most efficient, natural movement.

Jason combines his compassionate care and unmatched energy to help you identify the root and guide you to a full body restoration in far less time than a typical PT plan.

When not working on the body, Jason is dedicated to his family, his garden and living a healthy lifestyle.
