Breath & the Body: a yoga class led from a dancer’s perspective

Breath & the Body: a yoga class led from a dancer’s perspective

2023-24 Reflection, Healing, and Movement Series

About Breath & the Body:

This workshop is for all bodies and abilities. The majority of the class is offered on a mat but could be enjoyed while seated in a chair with modifications. Our warm up will begin slowly, prioritizing conscious breathing to initiate movement. We will build up to a standing flow, working through versions of sun salutations using repetition and accumulation to build heat and strength. Towards the end of class, a final sequence will be offered to explore at your own pace. Similar to a dance phrase, this series of movements can be experienced with individual expression and timing. Collective, constructive rest will conclude our time together.
