| What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching? |
Ecstatic Dance is one of the most ancient practices that has appeared throughout all cultures as long as humans have existed, although each community gives it it’s own name. Ecstatic Dance abandons form, and invites authentic connection to the self as well as to community. This style of dancing elicits a meditative state of mind, joy, and self-transcendence.

| What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject? |
The members of Heart Hive have practiced Ecstatic Dance for 7+ years and come from all different levels of dancing experience. The Heart Hive is passionate about creating a safe space for individuals to experience the joy of dancing and build community.

| What can students expect from this class? |
We will begin with an opening circle, followed by yoga play. After the warm-up we will dance and close with a circle and community connections.
