What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?	Ecstatic Dance is non-choreographed freeform movement presented in an comfortable environment meant to cultivate freedom from stress, distractions and judgments. Origins are traced to Big Island, HI where a form of dance that combined conscious dance movement with electronic music. The ecstatic dance community spans across the globe.
What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?	We have been hosting ecstatic dances for about one year now, we are always learning and growing together.
What can students expect from this workshop?	Our events vary in their offerings but generally consist of a warm-up or opening ceremony, a dance, and a closing meditation or live sound healing. We dance barefoot, we dance without words (communication via movement and expression), and we dance as we are (a focus on the present moment, away from phones, stresses, etc.)
