| What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
I am teaching NY-style Mambo Shines, a style of Salsa that dates back to the 50s and was modernized into the new age by Eddie Torres. NY Mambo is considered to be the most prestige style of Salsa in today’s world by popular opinion known for its fun and free lifting footwork and elegant turn patterns. |
| What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
I have been training in this style of dance for over 7 years and have been teaching it for 5 years. I began teaching early in my career given the style I was learning and training was not around in Mass at the time. |
