Gaga/people

  • What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
Gaga’s movement language is in active development by Ohad Naharin in Tel Aviv, parallel to his work as a choreographer and the former artistic director of Batsheva Dance Company.
  • What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
Ana became a certified Gaga teacher in Tel Aviv under the artistic guidance of Ohad Naharin, Saar Harari & Bosmat Nossan. Previously, she trained in Boston Ballet’s pre-professional program, before joining Ballet Austin II in 2008. After completing MASA Dance Journey on Kibbutz Ga’aton in 2010, she joined Kamea Dance Company in Beer Sheva where she danced for three years, touring across Israel and internationally. Today, Ana works as Gaga’s International Project Manager and shares Gaga classes for movers around the world.
  • What can students expect from this workshop?
Gaga/people classes offer an improvisational framework for users to connect to their bodies and imaginations, experience physical sensations, improve their flexibility and stamina, exercise their agility and explosive power, and enjoy the pleasure of movement in a welcoming, accepting atmosphere.
  • Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…
Gaga offers us the opportunity to connect more deeply to our bodies and community through the joy of movement.
  • How can students learn more?
