What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
MAMBO is a style of music and dance that originated in Cuba back in the 1930s/40s and became popular in the 1950’s in NYC during the Palladium era. |
What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
I have been training and performing in Mambo for over 7 years and have been teaching for over 5 years. |
What can students expect from this class?
A class that will be full of excitement, positivity, and artistic creativity. The class will come with a challenge every week and will push students to be the best dancers they can be week in and week out. |
Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…
…Its culture. To me, spreading more awareness to this style of dance is huge given many people in the world only see this as a “club dance” when in reality it’s also another form of artistic movement that can be more than a club dance. |
