What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
Hip hop – is a street dance form that derived from clubs and house parties in the 80’s. It has it’s rich and soulful roots in the African American Culture. It’s characterized by bounces, rocks vibin’ all intertwined with grooves that help you understand the attitudes and soul of African American culture. This class is a beginner choreography class. |
What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
Carl has been involved with the entertainment industry for over 32 years. A native Bostonian, he has spent his time performing, teaching, and choreographing in different parts of the world at many venues. He has shared the stage with artists like Sir Elton John, Neill Young, Ray Charles, Fabolous, and Glady Knight to name a few, He’s trained with and danced with many street dance legends. He co-founded Boston’s own BeanTown Lockers. |
