What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?
The roots of salsa are in the son. Combining elements of the Spanish guitar-playing tradition with the rhythmic complexity and call-and-response vocal tradition of African musical sources, the son originated in rural eastern Cuba and spread to Havana in the first decades of the 20th century. |
What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?
I have been training and performing in Latin dance for over 10 years and have been teaching for over 7 years. |
What can students expect from this class?
An upbeat and energetic beginner dance class to help you relax and enjoy life. We will build up from the basics with a focus on fundamentals and partner connection. |
Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…
…I have always had a passion for music and dance and I strive to bring that energy into my teaching and pass it on to the next generation of dancers! |
