Salsa Partnerwork On1 Level 1

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

The roots of salsa are in the son. Combining elements of the Spanish guitar-playing tradition with the rhythmic complexity and call-and-response vocal tradition of African musical sources, the son originated in rural eastern Cuba and spread to Havana in the first decades of the 20th century.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

I have been training and performing in Latin dance for over 10 years and have been teaching for over 7 years.

What can students expect from this class?

An upbeat and energetic beginner dance class to help you relax and enjoy life. We will build up from the basics with a focus on fundamentals and partner connection.

Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…

…I have always had a passion for music and dance and I strive to bring that energy into my teaching and pass it on to the next generation of dancers!
