The Dance Complex is a Top Non-Profit

As part of the nation-wide 2010 Art Appreciation Campaign, Cambridge-based The Dance Complex was voted one of the best non-profits. Though there is no monetary reward with this recognition, the increased visibility and credibility it affords is substantial.

Hosted by GreatNonprofits, Guidestar and Intersection for the Arts, this selection will provide the volunteer based center with a closer link to philanthropic groups and individuals.

In its 19th year, The Dance Complex is the proud steward of the Odd Fellows Hall in Central Square, Cambridge. With a diverse offering of classes, rehearsal and performance facilities it is the only non-membership organization that offers ongoing, drop in classes for all ages, skills and interest levels in the area.

A recipient of Cultural Facilities Funding, the Julie Ince Thompson Theatre, lobby and offices are now fully accessible. This renovation was recently completed by the S & H Construction Company.

Other recognized non-profits include Lenox's Shakespeare & Co, VSA of Boston, Wolf Trap Performing Arts Center (VA) and NYC's Playwrights' Horizon.

Class prices range from $6 - $15 per class. Schedule and prices are subject to change; see below for weekly cancellations, substitutes or changes, or contact the teacher directly.

Street shoes are never allowed in any studio (however, you may bring a clean pair of shoes to use).

CCAE - Designates Cambridge Center for Adult Education classes. These classes are open for walk-in participation and are held as usual when CCAE is out of session. To register for a full course, contact CCAE at 617.547.6789 or visit www.CCAE.org.

Dance Complex Work Study Program - Interested in working in exchange for classes or rehearsal space? Want to become more involved in the Greater Boston dance community? The WorkStudy Program may work for you! Please visit our Programs Page for more information.

Gift Certificates can be made for up to $50.00 (plus $5.00 processing fee for each certificate) and can be used for classes or rehearsals. You can stop by the Complex between 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri to purchase a certificate with a DC staff person. Otherwise, please send an addressed, stamped envelope along with a check/money order made out to The Dance Complex for the amount of the certificate (+$5 fee - make sure the check has your name, address, and phone number listed). Include the full name of the certificate recipient. We will send the certificate along with a Dance Complex schedule in the envelope you provide within 48 hours of receipt.
