Performance Skills & Repertoire

An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Thursday, repeating until Thu Apr 26, 2018
Students will learn choreography & performance skills such as conveying emotions and expressing the musical instruments through body. Each class will start with some movement drills & zills followed by a choreography and, or a special topic : improvisation, props, dance musicality, facial expression. Etc.
Improv.: Classes will include exercises to help students develop improvisational skills and working with group dynamics.
Props: veils/fan-veils, balancing props, and canes will be incorporated during the semester.
Music: Students will gain an understanding of Middle Eastern rhythms and musical structure and how to apply it to their dance. Students who take both technique and repertoire class, will have an opportunity to perform in student showcases. (Advanced students who want to waive the technique class may contact instructor)
