All Levels Flamenco Dance Workshop with Isaac de Los Reyes

What is the legacy of the genre/form/style you are teaching?

Flamenco, which UNESCO has recognized as part of the World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, is a complex art form that expresses flamenco rhythms by the interweaving of singers, dancers and musicians.

What background, training, and or relationship do you have with this style/technique/class subject?

Isaac’s parents were already renowned Flamenco dancers before he was born. From his first moments, he was immersed in flamenco music and rhythm. He and his family are part of the history of Flamenco. Throughout his life, he has been studying and performing with some of the most famous artists in Spain. He has performed as a soloist and guest artist for some of the most important Flamenco companies and in some of the most famous theaters in the world including the Sydney Opera House, La Scala Opera House in Milan and the Royal Opera House in Oman.

What can students expect from this class?

The technique classes are for all levels while the choreography classes are for students with some experience in Flamenco. Flamenco is highly expressive but has a unique esthetic that students need to learn about so that their movements will be recognized as “very Flamenca/o”! Ole!

Finish this statement: I am passionate about teaching this style because…

Flamenco is more than just a style of music. It is a rich and complex artform that I want to share with the world.
